No surprise here: Orphan Black has been renewed for a third season.

BBC America made the announcement Wednesday at the top of its presentations during the Television Critics Association press tour, which takes place over the next two weeks in Los Angeles.

Production on the new season of the series, starring Tatiana Maslany, is expected to start in September for broadcast in spring 2014.

The show closed out its second season in June with a crazy cliffhanger that introduced male clones to the Orphan Black world. At the time, a third season was considered imminent.

According to BBC America, Orphan Black is the first-ever ad-supported drama to double its audience from season 1 to season 2, and is the network's best-performing series behind Doctor Who.
