Pocket Premium Saves Online Articles Forever

Pocket users are now able to save articles for later, forever

Formerly known as Read It Later, the app rolled out a premium version if its service, which allows you to permanently save articles in your archive รข€" even if the original source has been removed from the web.

With Pocket Premium, the most significant change is the addition of a permanent library of all of your saved links.

"This means the content you care about is safe and always available, even if it changes or is deleted on the web," the company explained in a blog post. "From the moment you upgrade to Premium, both new and existing items in your list and Archive become a permanent resource."

The app's premium version also includes major improvements to the service's search, and in the way users' archives are organized. Subscribers can search their archive by keyword, topic, author name, tag or article text.

Pocket Premium's tagging system has also been upgraded; it now suggests tags for saved posts based on the article's topic, and which tags you've used in the past. The more tags you use, the better the app will be at predicting which ones you'll want.

The free version of Pocket also got a few improvements in Wednesday's update, including improved tag management for iOS and Android apps, as well as redesigned browser extensions for its web users.

Subscriptions to Pocket Premium will cost $4.99 per month or $44.99 per year, and are available to the app's iOS and Android users.
