Relive Some of 'The View's' Most Memorable Moments

Approaching its 17th season, The View has persisted as an American talk show since 1997, thriving off its ever-changing panel of female journalists and personalities who cover some of the biggest stories in current events and celebrity news with no scarcity of aplomb and eccentricity.

The show this week unveiled promotional photos that shone the spotlight on the panel's newest member, Jenny McCarthy. Set to premiere Sept. 9, The View's 17th season will also feature Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg as co-hosts â€" with one more seat still vacant, looking to be filled. Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar are no longer parts of the show.

The View was created by Bill Geddie and Barbara Walters â€" who has remained on the show since the beginning but recently confirmed rumors of her upcoming TV journalism retirement.
