Apple has put up its colorful new smartphone, the iPhone 5C, up for pre-order.
Once you choose from one of the five available colors and the storage capacity (16GB is $99, 32GB is $199), you can get the device with a contract from one of three network carriers â€" AT&T, Sprint or Verizon.
You can also pre-order the iPhone 5C unlocked and contract free, for $549 (16GB) or $649 (32GB).
The delivery date for all variants is September 20, which is also when the iPhone 5S becomes available in stores.
The iPhone 5C is Apple's replacement for the iPhone 5. Besides the colorful appearance (it's available in blue, green, yellow pink and white), and a plastic chassis, it is nearly the same as its predecessor, with a few upgrades â€" improved FaceTime and support for more networks.
